Car Accident

Being in a car accident is a very difficult situation on a number of levels. Your pain is sometimes secondary to the aftermath of having your car at the mechanic as well as the stress of dealing with your insurance and potentially missing work.

While you are in a hurry to get your car fixed and back to normal activities, make sure to see your chiropractor before you make any major decisions. There could be underlying injuries that a minor stiff neck are not allowing you to uncover. A car accident is a major event and the trauma that come from them could be significant.

Chiropractors are specialists in soft and hard tissue problems including the results that could come from the trauma from a car accident. Make sure you see your chiropractor to get a full examination.

If you have been in an accident, call our office today. We can answer many of your questions. There is no obligation to schedule or keep an appointment. All too often we hear from patients, years after their accident, that they did not know they had coverage available for their injuries.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Auto Accident Injuries

Q: What is PIP?

A: Personal Injury Protection. It is the coverage on your auto insurance policy that covers your injuries.

Q: The other driver was at fault for the accident, who's insurance covers my injury?

A: Florida is a No-Fault state, meaning that your own car insurance covers your injuries. If you did not have car insurance or you were a passenger, you may still have coverage available. Call our office for more details.

Q: Will it cost me anything for treatment?

A: Every insurance policy is different. Some may cover 100% of your bill, while others may cover only 80%. The majority of patients who are covered under PIP may have no out of pocket expense. Call our office for more details.

Q: Do you offer a free consultation?

A: Your consultation will be at no charge if you do not initiate treatment with our office.

Q: Won't the pain go away on its own?

A: Sometimes the pain may go away on its own, however, the underlying ligament and/or soft tissue injury often still remains. There can be a spinal injury with no noticeable symptoms.

Q: Do we take x-rays?

A: We recommend x-rays for all adults who have been in a motor vehicle accident. We do not take the x-rays in our office. We refer you to a local diagnostic center.

Q: Do we order MRIs?

A: If an MRI is necessary we will refer you for one.

Q: How often will I have to come in for treatment?

A: Every patient is different and every treatment plan is different. Chiropractic care requires a series of visits to be effective. We do our best to accomodate your schedule and respect your time by having an average visit time of 15 minutes.

Q: What will happen on my first visit?

A: You will fill out paperwork, have your consultation, examination, and physiotherapy. Some patients may also receive their first spinal manipulation on their first visit at the doctor's discretion.
